It seems sophistication is a lost pleasure these days.

This is a cool mix, I like the use of expensive chords on this one. Not everyone can afford to use the expensive chords. It's very clever.

Charles

Your right J. THis is the shit. And it's got mpls class too! I'll always give big props to my fellow cityzens.

Charles

This is great. Reminds me of the ever so classic "extended mix" you see in the 80's it's a shame your limit is 4.5 mb or I would totally suggest like a drum fill break down to relive the classic remixed experiance.

Charles

Excellent work. I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said.

Charles

Yum. Philip Glass.

Thank you all for the flattering remarks.

I like the groove, and who cares if it feels like a loop. A loop has a time and a place, and in this mix it opens up the ears to listen to the other things going on in the peice.

at the end I wish it would've just stuck in the groove instead of building, because it makes me feel like something is going to amp up, and then it ends. A groove is a groove and doesn't have to amount to anything more for a listener to like it.

Heck, just go back and listen to Daft Punk's Homework and how successful that alubm was at poping a groove and keeping people's interest in it.

Charles

Your choice to use president Bush samples is both original and unoriginal. I liked that you manipulated his samples, but honestly I have heard enough EBM tracks with Bush's samples in it. From my perspective I know it says a message for today, but what about tommorrow? When Bush is forgotten what happens to your art then?

That aside, because the choice to use bush is clearly a personal choice, I will omit my opinion from my final descision and vote purely on the remix's merits rather then my own personal prejudices.

I liked your clever slicing of gabriel's vocals. I think more people should explore the total realm of possibility in remix art. Bending the rules is what spawned the remix and an art form that was started on that foundation, should certainly never ever become complacent! So thumbs up to you.

I liked that this is part three in a series. I plan on listening to the other two before the end of the remix competition.

Charles

Yikes! This remix is like a punch in the face from the lady of your dreams. You love it, you hate it, but you'll never forget it.

Charles

I like the speed play in the vocal edits.

The faster edit points feel chopped up a little. I remember making a similar comment in regards to pidjy's(?) 6/8 mix.

Charles

A few editing choices during the verses just didn't sit right with me. I couldn't say if it was because the line felt more rushed or that there was just too many vocal edit points in one bar.

I definately am hip to 6/8.

Charles

Got this one marked as a fave. I personally find that tuning issues and what not give a track charector.

It was obvious to me that Chris From France had to of known they were there, just on the strength of the mix alone. It is at that point where a good producer can see a deliberate approach over an incedental flaw.

So thumbs up, especially for taking chances and not following the norm.

Charles

This is an excellent mix in comparison to the others I've heard so far. Not that everyone else has done poorly, but that this one just stands out a little stronger then the rest.
