Remixer Notes
Hi again all music lovers!
This is my second official remix/cover of a pg song.
Again, I opted for using only vocal lines and basic harmonies, using a classic string quartet (2 Vlns, 1 Vla, 1 Vcl) and a woodwind quartet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Bass Clarinet). All in an "idefix" way!
This time, for a very different remix from the other one "Should I Be One Of You?.", the idea derived from an "aching nostalgia" feeling I had often listening to the original tune.
This is a very personal intimate and inner way to understand what our past times can awake from our "secret world". From this feeling, I choose to downbeat the tempo from 96 to 80 BMP and to dress all that in a chamber music mood.
This is, here and there, also a "hommage" to early 1970's music lovers (maybe you can recognize some direct or not-so-direct quotes; good luck!)
Enjoy my new tune, but don't forget to listen to the "Not One Of Us" cover from me too!
Saluti,
andrea [ aka "idefix" aka "dersklerosenkavalier" ] riderelli.

i had to sit down to listen to this genious arrangement!! fantastic.WOW
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Creative efforts here merit a 5/5. Way to be expressive. So many remixes are much to simple with lack of originality but this is an example of what a lot of thought brings to the ear.
Thank you all for your encouraging words!
@NoPizzaBob: yes, there is a "story" behind this remix. i always have a feeling of a "story" when i compose or simply listen at music!
@Ceox: thank you very much, but i am a bit awkward when i read the word "genius" for my works. i simply feel the music in that way. that's all.
@lauras: thank you! that's what i'm doing!. there are so many inspiring remix to do here at realworldremixed.com that is only matter of time.
@Susy1214: as have you maybe argued from those above, i try to express myself without ready-made thoughts. and, this is an advice for all artists, try to powering "creativity" through "limitations".
cheers from rome,
andrea
p.s.: @Ceox: you are from vienna. cool! maybe you may be interested in two lieder from mine you can "hardly" find ("digging in the dirt" from "suoni" menu item) on my little site.
Wow, just wow!
This one is wonderful, very interesting intro, and the orchester-instruments you played are so beautiful. You don't like the word 'genius'? You will have to arrange with this word if you upload stuff like this.
I think I need some hints on the musical quotes you mentioned. My ears found these: Pink Floyd (the radio section in the beginning), some Alan Parsons stuff (the Music-box sequence) and perhaps some Barclay James Harvest (There is a similar steps-sequence on the Album Octoberon at the end of the track 'Suicide') - But I fear all these things are from the eighties.
Very well done, "ottimamente"!!
AndreasF
PS1: Didn't find the file you mentioned above.
PS2: There are some german words in your internetsite. Do you have any relationship to this language?
hi andreas!
in order:
1) about "quotes": i can't say more now. i would like this to be a sort of funny "game" for all those who want to partecipate. one hint could be: those "quotes" are "closely" part of this "land" except for two of them (the first one being more evocative of the "sign of times"; the latter being more "italian localized".)
2) about ps1: you have first to "dig" into the "suoni" menu and then you have to look at "ton und gedichte" just on the upper left menu ( or simply go here: http://www.capitoliscompagni.it/documents/56.html )
3) about ps2: somehow. i love the german culture very, very much (ie: georg trakl: there are some early lieder of mine from '80/'90 based on his poetry). i also studied german language for myself in the past. unfortunately i never had the chance to practice it. so, in this moment, leider ich erinne nicht!.
endlich: viele danke for your kind words!
andrea.
on 2) point i have to add the fact there is a player on each page with which you can hear some "noise" from mine.
cheers,
andrea
Here again!
Work technically more complex (I think) than before (Should I be one of you?) and much more intimate.
I noticed many quotes and some seem to have guessed (did I won something ?).
Well Andrew, how far you get and more importantly, what will be your next remix?
Now I must go: I still have to guess the other quotes
.
Thanks again and above all, good luck!
hi djansia!
you can report here your guess without problem and you will win a glorious "bravo" that you can then spend as you want!
my next remix? i don't know exactly.
i am hard working in duplex inspiration on how to shock a monkey and how to do someone to talk to me.
but, on the queue list there are sevara and angelique kidjo too!
cheers,
andrea
Wonderful work!
Just came back from seeing PG in Paris; it was a sublime experience and I'm having difficulties in restart my normal everyday life!
Purtroppo non sono in grado di riconoscere tutte le citazioni, mi verrebbe da dire il piano di "Here comes the flood" all'inizio, e lungo tutto il brano qualcosa mi fa pensare ai Beatles. . . ma non so dire cosa esattamente!
Grazie per quest'opera d'arte!
Brilliant remix and definitely my favourite so far
Really enjoyed the mood you have achieved.
Would it be blasphemy to say that this is actually better than the original, hehe. sorry for that P.G. ;-) Maybe it will be included in a remix album?
Love the string/wind arrangements and how they interlock so gracefully with the vocals. Good job!!
Impressive, the intensity of this creation. It's so pictural !
Idefix is the french name of the dog in "Asterix et Obelix". Adorable pet.
Bravo!!!
Beautifully fragile/tender. And very original remixing too. I enjoyed this a lot.
Intriguing
Has the complexity of an aged red wine and gives the same pleasure when listening.
Continue on this project
Bye
Al
thank you again, dear friends!
@tethia: about the pg concert, i think it should be an impressive one, shouldn't it? ti invidio!!!
@brillman: so, please don't be blasphemous! i'm joking of course, but the original will be "the original" forever! i'm glad you like my version!
@youyou: i hope to resemble to the original dog soul!
@alesssandro57: grazie, ale!!!
@hideousrhesus: yes, tried to be on "the other side of the mood"
@asimmetrico: you give me a wonderful image! i am going further on remixes. stay tuned!
MA CHE BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Impeccabile!!!
MAX
Wow!
I just noticed that you reached No. 1 five times in a row (with different tracks, but sometimes you were at No. 2 and 3, too!!!) Congratulations! I'm not sure if anybody else at RWR ever has been so successful in the charts. And there have been some really BIG ones here.
Well deserved, Andrea. Your music here ist SO beautiful and is highest level. You don't go for the "sweet" and easy ones, your songs are creative to the bones and very 'Scratch-my-back'.
Peter will enjoy, I'm sure.
Regards
A (with the F)
hi "a mit f"!
thank you for your comment. i'm glad you (as others, indeed) appreciate my way of thinking/approaching music.
the first time i did listen pg's "smb" i wasn't surprised at all, because i was thinking about an "alternative" and more "classical" vision of pg music since fifteen years ago (at least) talking with my friends. i was (and i am) more classical/contemporary involved whereas my friends where mostly "prog" oriented.
i am currently slowdown on three others rwr projects (like a hobo, salala and stm) because of a new project i am collaborating with in recording studio (it's about a full album of a young songwriter from rome) plus a short piece of mine i am re-elaborating for clarinet choir of nine elements (an interesting and stimulating project!)
a big cheer from rome!
andrea
ma tu sei un genio :)
