Remixer Notes
I have lost all ability to see the forest through the trees. All perspective gone. I think I like this mix - I don't really know anymore. Too much agonizing over every minute detail, decision and direction.
In the end, I didn't try to make an entirely new song, I just took the original in a slightly different direction. Definitely going for a pop-rock, catchy repeat sort of vibe. Hope you like it - I'm not sure I even do anmymore. HA!

Wow - didn't think anyone would catch the Mark Kerr reference - nice job. Yeah, well I was thinking of that monkey from the beginning of 2001. He was smashing the crap out of that skull with the other bones - he was a smashing machine. Then the Kerr documentary came to mind. Seemed to fit.
4 Stars. Perfect integration of PG's voice and perfect structure of the song.
Goes to my favorites looking for top ten.
Like the bass treatment as it drives the song along really well.
Nice guitars.
Got that Led Zeppelin feel from their early days. Guess thats what a Les Paul can do for you sometimes!!
Great work
Nice - Nothing wrong with a Led Zep reference!
Very nice treatment of the original elements of the song in a new direction.
Two different parts and both sound really nice :) Sligthly too much of your Les Paul in my opinion. but it's a good remix :)
I fought with myself of the balance of the guitar. After listening too many times, nothing sounds right. In then end I wanted a pretty big sound.
nice and careful piece of work
kinda reminds me of 80's King Crimson in some parts (around 2.40) - think "beat" era -
(the chapman stick is probably key in this feeling)
lots of interesting details in your mix.
top ten
Great job, ABECK. Good sounds and you stayed true to the spirit of the origial.
Excellent work Abeck.
Nice heavy groove.
Excellent work, love it!
Great work. A clever arrangement with lots of little new ideas and details. It does sound like a lot of audio tracks were used. I enjoyed the listen
I like that one very much. Thsee lots of details already mentioned by the others are indeed very clever and refreshing.
The only thing I would try to improve is to make the sound of the machine smash a little more. I turned up the volume of my speakers quite a lot but it sounded still kind of flat. Please don't ask for a more precise description of what I mean, because I don't really know it myself. I just know that I have the same problem when i listen to my own try. And it's not a matter of my speakers!
Hello,
great guitar and real drums!
I love it!
4 stars for your great remix!
Can you rate my remix too?

Thanks!
Have a nice day & good luck for the contest!
This rocks!!
It also has some very effective vocal restructuring. Although you reinvented the song form, it all flows pretty naturally. I'm jealous. I stuck with to original song form, just to give myself the sanity of some limitations. After hearing this I wish I had taken the time to experiment with that.
Nice mix Abeck. Listend to the end and thats getting harder to do I got a 1969 Yamaha SA 70 it sounds like this creamy man
Thanks - I know what you mean. There's been so many, I can't keep up.
This is a great mix! I love the guitar parts and overall heaviness. The double-time feel really drives the ending.
Thanks - yeah I wanted to do two versions. One half time and one full speed. In the end, I figured I could say everything I wanted in one track. The trick was transitioning the two parts to sound natural. I'm happy with the way it came out.
Funny, the comments all seem very positive, yet the rating keeps slipping. What's in a number anyway - I had a blast.
Hey there ABECK. I just got back here to see that you did name th mix after Mark Kerr's nickname
That's cool. That Documentary was pretty sad stuff, but he seems to be doing better these days. I think he has a match coming up in the IFL soon.
Have you had a chance to hear my mix yet? I have not seen any comments from you there, so I am not sure.
Cool to find another MMA fan on a music forum
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope at some point RWR will allow me to upload my 320kbps MP3 version. Perhaps if I make the final 122 this will be allowed? It really sounds quite different. The 128kpbs one breaks up in many parts where the 320 one doesn't.
We'll see. Thanks for the encouraging words
Hope to hear some more of your stuff posted here soon.

can't believe I bumped into this gem of a remix only now. I like the guitar and drums a lot, yet you left lots of space for numerous subtle details. An intelligent, yet grooving remix.
Good remix, I'm glad I found and had the chance to hear it!
Totally agree with Mr.Spinmeister!
Why did I never stopped on this remix?
It's powerfull, GRANDE!!!
It's late, sorry, but now I run to add you to my favourites and give you 5 stars with 10 kissess!!!!
There were so many mixes for STM (especially towards the end) that it was easy to miss some. I'm sure I missed many and several of those were probably very good. I'm not sick of the song any more, so I'll probably go back and see what other gems I can find too!

Mark Kerr fan? I like this mix. Good, low down solid beat, and some nice heavy guitars. Rockin!
