Remixer Notes
I hope this constitutes a remix. Ive basically rebuilt the song from the rhythm up, kept the basic lyric form reasonably intact, but apart from one of the original guitar parts all the other instruments and samples are my own. I'm biased towards psychologically darker, harder edged Gabriel songs and wanted to have a go at crunching this one up a bit. Its about jealousy after all!
Technical Information

Various custom samples, 4-stringed Electric Guitar, 2-stringed Electric Bass, Custom built robotic drum kit. earplugs.

Have listened to and voted on a lot of remixes but this is the first time I've added a comment. I like this a lot and scored it high. Well done.
Creates a really kind of manic, mad feel in some parts, probably exactly what was intended. Nice work.
I really dig what you're doing around the 2 minute mark.
The distorted vocals is a mistake though, it destracts from the music and rhythm which is very well done.
a bit like the good old days of Michael Jackson, groove is great, keep away the distortion from the vocals and you'll get my five stars
I like the rythmn on this one.sounds very PG too
cool production! - good job.
Hi
Ok , i've listen all the remixes here from the PG remix and i was waiting for something more Prog/Rock since the begining.for me this one (and mine
is the the only one who respect Peter Gabriel : sorry for the others but really i can't understand the Dance remixes/R'nB/D&B etc.??? So i'm really happy to ear something i'd love to do by myself. but it's a really good composition , good taste. The best remixe here .
Chris
my favourite mix right now!
5 stars from Germany - that's my mix! Thank you!
Can't stop listening to this. Could have a winner here. I'm sure P.G. will love this one.
Disagree with the comments about the distorted vocals - it adds to the overall feel of the mix.
Thanks for the comments. Its a strange thing after listening to all these remixes and being amazed at the diversity, I realised that classic songs like this ultimately belong to the audience. Each individual eventually imposes his or her own personal significance on it. I imagine it must be a difficult thing for a writer like Gabriel who spends so much time and effort on crafting these songs, to relinquish this sense of ownership and perhaps introduce a fear of being misunderstood. Remixes might be the most honest form of criticism or praise a songwriter can get.
Think PG would get on with this! really dark!
Simg
Chris from France,,, Your's is a great mix, but how about a little modesty?
Sorry, I didnt think I was being immodest, just wanted to share a thought I had.
I appreciate the comment though.
Sorry Simg. I misread your comment.
For Simg
Sorry but it was a Joke.2 degree.(it's not my personality to be conceited).
I know the work who did all the people here and for that all are winners .
Chris
One of the most creativ remix I've heard so far, the "string-brass like" sample you use just drive me crazy! the mellotron is a great add too. The saturated guitar is not necessary in my opinion.
But the end you made is just AWESOME! the choice of harmonies ( wich chords do you play on this part? ) the different break rythms, the atmosphere, this part is just PERFECT!
Ans I love the "kate bush" ambience like at the very end of your remix.
Please excuse my bad English, but it's not my native language.
You realy deserve to win (IMHO)
1.55 - 2.10 thats 15 second of pure talent, this is just amazing I can't help playing this part in loop!
Man you got my respect.
very industrial remix.
My favourite part is the attack of the first chorus
Just absolutely CRAZY-brilliant, bruddah! I love the stuff that grooves and this is so frikkin' bounce-worthy and powerful it's not even funny. Perfect dynamic stops and swells, and I'm with everyone else on the turn at 2:00: it's a superbly crafted bit of music. I must say I'd extend the length of that particular highlight reel moment a little longer than pidjy's 15 seconds - I'd go at least 45 seconds and more likely through the end of the song - it just doesn't stop being cool, IMHO.
In order to avoid being accused of defending another person who doesn't necessarily want to be defended regarding dirty/crunchy distortion and effects, I am definitely biting my tongue. Loveshadow, Chucky3000 and roesner: you all are completely entitled to your opinions.
No matter how WRONG they are.
Multiman, this is one that I keep coming back to.
Chris from France, nice to see you are a gentlman.
Great work from the two of you, and all the others that have bared their talent.
Me I will just keep practising until I figure it out!
Well I am a drummer!
Simg
once again sorry for the confusion of my words, but I was the last of my class in english at the school.but anyway.
definitively it is the best remixe and especially stay with the distorded voices as in darkness (first title of PG album- Up) perhaps which you have made a sample of the hit ?
And if i can write something for all peoples here :
why not ask for others packages of Peter Gabriel to continue throughout the year to make remixes, without contest right for the pleasure of sharing musical moments sets.just a reflexion.
nice work to you Multiman , great talent here.
Chris
Kevmikwa, I took those 15 sec as a reference for some specifics chords, but forget it, I extend the pleasure of this tracks to 4 minutes
Chris said : why not ask for others packages of Peter Gabriel to continue throughout the year to make remixes.
I want San Jacinto!
Add to comp top ten !
my fav!
up up up!!! wake up for some real talent!
Yes very nice indeed! Very much Up! feelign it over it, like it!
I like it. You tried something different, but kept the Monkey.
I've listened to a lot of remixes, and this one blows me away. Really good work. Like the bit where you go on the off-beat, around 3min. You get my vote!
This is an excellent mix in comparison to the others I've heard so far. Not that everyone else has done poorly, but that this one just stands out a little stronger then the rest.
Charles
I've listened to quite a few remixes here but this is my first comment - I am quite impressed. It's a very coherent piece, it holds you suspended in some places, but you hang on to the end. I do agree with other opinions here about the vocals, if you'd saved the grittier sound to closer to the end, it would have more 'punch', especially with the way you ended it, but that's just my opinion!
You're one of my faves, I hope you win.
good works on structure nices surprises in the track
I love it
My favourite too. Real personnality and work on the sens here. Thank you for giving air.
and to think I thought I was sick of listening to Shock then I stumbled upon this.wow!!
Really, really good. I enjoy it a lot. I remember inmediately the Up style. Your version is pure PG. I will add now to my top ten. Is the better mix that Ive hearded here. So far.
The voice process is perfect. The samples places, the structure. Coherent progression. I wanna say Wow. Big congratulations. Sincerely, you are my winner.
(There are some sounds from Passion?)
If you want, listen to my remix Lazy Monkey (slowly version) or Big Monkey (fat drums), and add some comment. Thanks and very, very and very good luck!
(from Uruguay, South America)
yes, good feel to this one, like it a lot!
Thank you all for the encouraging comments. I just wanted to say that all of the samples/recordings in my mix were made by me - some date back almost 20 years!
Killer work Multiman don't you have a fairlight keyboard? You'r the one I would like to play music with (if I was a musician) but I'm only a P.Gabriel's fan.
really like the production.fookin' great!!!! No focus to the remix.kinda hard to listen to.great vibe, tho.
The crazy power is here !!!
Really enjoyed that - very "UP". Initially I thaught the voice was over processed, however I have now changed my mind. It is instead perfect for this treatment. Very unique and interesting remix. Good luck!
Cool. Great production with the distorted vibe. Like the reharmonization as well. I reckon you'll be in the finals.
Wow! This is great. I hear triumph over the "monkey". Really liked the ending with the nature sounds of birds singing. Makes it a peaceful ending.
I like what you did with the vocals, sort of like what BT did with PG,but more dubish
Great! A little too much disto on the vocals for my liking, but still good. What the hell is a 4 string guitar? Something you picked up from banjo depot? Just Kidding, Great job!
Ethereal, dark, atmospheric, groovin, emotional, all the things that light my fire, absolutely stunning, you are one cold dude! This reeks of everything from early PG to Passion, I love it!
I also use logic, can I come look over your shoulder for a day or so?
And hey the distotion on the vocals just add texture to the mood and don't bother me in the least.
It's gonna take some doin to top what you have done hear!
Should be on UP. I hope we can buy these at some point. Brilliant
Well, now this is one that really gets to ol Doghouse. Prowlin the back alleys.off the leash.and feeling hungry. Grrrr.
3 Stars. Great mix. Only should be ending after 3 min. and PG's voice more without distortion. It would be one of my absolute favorites.
very crunchy indeed - needs a little bit of milk though.
Phantastic sound - no need to win a duende
Tight Bro.I will listen again. Great bass.
The distortion caught my ear .very unusual sound. but it works in this "crunchy" mix.
Nice work.
I really like what you've done in the low end and those creepy detuned Boards of Canada sounds work nicely.
Wow! I just started listening and have lots more to go but this is VERY cool.
Like the birds, of course.
Hey Multiman.
You must take a look at this.
http://www.charismapro.co.uk/gabriel.htm
The best tribute to your artwork.
Greetings from Paris
the first part in particular is top notch.
as for me I could have lived without the birds .
I wonder what's that sound around 2.40 .( sound like a wooden flute with a mellotron softness )
nice mix overall
Really neat ending with a very silent whisper.
5 stars ! you're so close from peter's work !
thanks
Thanks everyone.
Nrevk Niatpak - the sound is a sample of something I dont remember Im afraid, I made it so long ago. Probably some kind of flute yes.
Interesting to read comments about the vocal distortion. I spent a long time on this. Clean vocals (or any other effect I could find) just sat on top like oil on water. I wanted to push the song in an 'earthy' direction but the vocal performance, although intense in its own way, just didnt quite sit. Clipping it like this brought out more of the guts I was looking for, and created wider contrasts between the sections.
Monstrous.nothing else to say.
Blown away. Incredible.
I had no idea I'd be up against this kind of talent.
Where have you guys been hiding?
Never liked distorsion on the voice! Especially for the whole song!!! Sorry
Like it.
After listing to the same old vox all the time, it's a little anouying. this is way easy to listen to. My ears like
!
that's very good. i like your dramaturgy, and the drumsounds /grooves are quite gabrielish. only thing, the wrong birds.
djeeez, am i competing with this? Hotdamn you're good.
Gritty and groovy monkey gravy. One of my faves thus far.
No problem with the vocal distortion here. It makes some of the crazy harmonies inthe first verse even more jarring. Once the drums and the guitar kick in around the 2:00 mark, I become erect. The little rhythmic turnarounds are brilliantly-executed, too. Great job.
Simply Perfect work. Can't find any mistake.
Gratulations !
yeahy! Someone with some original ideas. Love the mood shifts. Great powerversion. Check out my dark guitar and live drums version here.
http://www.realworldremixed.com/remix.php?remix_id=lVV-gZgJZRJOvgHy
best of luck to you.
I LIKE THIS MIX BUT I THOUGHT STICKING TO THE ORIGINAL SAMPLES IS WHAT THIS IS ABOUT.
THANKS
Verry original,superb **** stars
Best of the top ten. sounds like something The Man himself might churn out.
-Jakks
wow - so many unique ideas and sounds - the highlight for me are the drums. The groove really "sits" and the drum samples/sounds are big and rough. I like it a lot!
Again me.
When I heard this one first, I thinked all will be pro like this. But after hearing this one again, I can tell it is the best remix of all. Hope you will win the contest !
(I will not making any remix, my studio goes underwater at the top of the house.)
By the way, it is the closest of PG taste
(and my own
How did you mixed it ? It's killer !!
Dr.Victor
simply stunning!
5 stars for the a unique sample library
really nice!
this rocks. the distorted vocal is great, endemic to the tune even.
Great work. I love the ending, and would've loved for it to be reflected in the opening, too. That's not meant as a criticism.more a compliment on how I just wanted to hear even more of all the great new sounds you have going there.
I really enjoy this and you've brought out some things in the original I hadn't been aware of. I also think it is in sympathy with the original track and Gabriel's overall sound.
Im here again, to listen this beautiful piece. I would like to rate again!
I have uploaded a new version called Shakuhachi Dream, and I will apreciate if you listen and comment something. In fact, I remembered your PG flavour when I have worked on my version.
Well, the contest will finish soon. Congratulations for your work. I repeat that you are the winner. Good luck.
Alejandro from Uruguay
tatevari2001@yahoo.com.ar
Nice version with good rythmic ! Maybe you should have "brighted" the vocal to make it go a little bit upfront. But it's interestingn and pleasant.
Youre in my top!!! excellent work!!!!
Please listen my mix & put me in your top if you like my industrial stuff!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks!!! y good luck in the contest!!!!
This is excellent too.
Maybe perfect.!
(many talents here.
very difficult to choose my best 5)
Ouch ! I've just discovered your remix !
It is awesome and deserves a good place in my TOP10.
Not only it is creative (your sample collection makes me jealous), but also very well produced and well done. The pacing of the voice is perfect and the low bass end is a real pleasure.
An excellent work that deserves a better overall note. I've given a 5 to you, and you're in my fav and, as I wrote, in my TOP10.
Good luck !
a dark monkey.
cool.
sGz
yes it's very dark, but very effective ! good job
I didn't like the distorted vocals at first.but now that I come back to it, I really like them.
Brilliant job, mate.
I admit being skeptical at first but all in all I have to say this works pretty well and gives it a great new edge! Well done!
Great percussion, very dark atmosphere, great sounds, very jealous, very PGish. Fantastic! One track more added to my top ten. 5
Very impressive sound/ideas/editing! Opening 'motif' is excellent, and I think you got the distorted vocals just right
wow great, 5 stars from me
Man, thi is certainly an interesting take. added to my top ten.
Might I induce you into listening to mine?
I like this. It's hectic and evil sounding.
I like the contrasts between the distorted and clean vocal parts. And I like the way you go between the beat-heavy sections and the more abstract bits without losing the flow of it. Sort of like a 21st century version of what George Martin did on 'Strawberry Fields'.
Have added to my top ten.
I can't believe I hadn't stumbled onto this gem sooner, really excellent work. You've brought the song into more of an OVO atmosphere, which I love!
Great work! Also for me it reminds OVO and it has a realistic PG-like sound.
5 stars and into my fav
.and great bass!
Simply fantastic
Simply fantastic
Waw good dynamic
Superb !!!
Sooo many comments. I'm quite jealous! As for the song, The Monkey That Ate People should be its title. Straight into my top ten with this one - you've done what I've done, remixed a song that is PG and what he's about musically. Think I'm going to listen again, but LOUDER this time!
hope my next remix sounds like this
One of my fav's
Keep up the good work
great stuff *****
your remix has everything, what a real good remix must have, respect. 5 stars and a place in my top ten!
certainly you are not tryng something new.but sounds great.
Hey Multiman!
Love yr sense of humour, LOVE your mix!
Awesome distortion - imparts a great feel to the track.
Big 5 stars to you!
Yow wow! Incredible!
This is so up in the top notch. Distortion is great in the mix.
Love it.
High 5 Multi!
Man I like this!
Great gritty distortion.
Another Zonino mix!
Wonder why the best tracks are low on the list? Yours and others in the bottom half are the best!
Keep up such gr8 work.
wow, very cool samples. could be a remix by his own. guitar out of tune at 2.45, the breakdown at 2.57 comes a bit to early i think and for my taste too much bass at the middle part that starts at 1.55. but neverthless this one is one of my favourites, good job. you inspired me to put some natural athmosphere into my own remix. thank you
You made it yours Like the chords very Dynamic
Hard and edgy - sounds great like this!
What a surprise for an ol simian
Just wanted to let you know i've put you on the 1st place in my definite top ten. Let's hope many more will do so. And i had a peek at your short movie; breathtaking strong images. Good luck these last days David.
Love the vocal treatment!!!!

Multiman's track or remix is so close to the original sounds of Peter himself is doing:)So good and emotional build up-fantasmagoric!and everybody thought that loveshadow maybe will take a first place?
By the way you was also in my top somehow, even it's so hard to listen carefuly to everyone.but I've tried:)Glad for you!
CONGRATULATIONS.VERY DESERVING!!!!I WANT TO BUY IT!!!!ROCK ON BUDDY!
OK except for the distortion on the vocals.
You are the best !
Congratulations !!
Peace
Too-Old
Congratulations, Multiman! It's a sound I could hear PG himself doing, and that makes it #1 in my book. Dark, moody, and coinciding with the words. The original could almost be a dance mix of this one! The vocal distortion put me off initially, but the more I listened (and I've played it at least a dozen times now), that distortion creates a harmonic effect that really speaks to me. Well done!
Excellent. I can't think of anything that I'd change about this remix. Even the distorted vocals seem fine. Maybe, just maybe, I'd keep the original vocal rhythm at the end. There's an urgency to the original song near the end that is sort of lost in this mix. Still, the mixing is superb; a very professional job.
I too am a fan of the industrial/crunchy feel of this remix. I am impressed by the style, there is only one glich (in my opinion that is) and that is where the music is mixed louder than the lyrics to the point of being overpowering (if that makes sense). Congrads on the win Mulitman, it is well deserved and it makes me wish I knew how to make my own remixes!
Absolutely brilliant remix. Brilliant too that PG makes these samples available and encourages this type of thing. I can't imagine other such artists doing it! I've loved using Noodle to 'play around' with his music but to be able to download and re-record/remix is great.
Multiman and PG? Any more remixes in the pipeline?
Congratulations
Very good mix though i think i would have put a bit less bass. No offense meant of course !
CONGRATULATIONS ! Really nice job . A lot of taste and musicality there .
Cheers,
Dimitri.
It is outstanding.I love the distortet voice and the industry-feel.Congrats.a worthy winner.and by chance,my favourite;)
Congratulations!
You must be really proud !! Great work and well deserved!
eve
Finaly your reward for all the hard work.
Congratulations Multiman.
Keep up the good work
Congratulations Multiman!!!!!!!!
very very very very cool!!! the sound is great!!
Great driving music when you are driving a Bmer !
I love this remix. Good job!!!
You don't need somebody to cover you ;-)
Great work, congrats on the win. Keep mixing stuff like this and you will be in the studio with peter
I'm truly well surprised and happy for Peter Gabriel's choice.
This remix is perfect, powerful and respects PG style.
All my best wishes for your future!
Magnifique et félicitation, une nouvelles jeunesse pour le "monkey" Bravo
Congratulations!!
Congratulations!!!
This rmx is great!
CONGRATULATION!!!
Strong arrangement.
Best wishes from Vienna, cm
CONGRATULATION FOR WIN!!!!!!!
your restraint in this piece and your talent for rhythm make it work wonderfully. Also, the way my body wants to sing along and move immediately upon hearing it.
Inspirationless!
loved it !! great sound, would love to see pg do this live ! and soon !!! cheers
It is really good!!!!!!!
Well deserved!
Congratulations!
Very diverse in timbre's, interesting randomly inserted freq. modulations, however, as with alot comming out all over the world these days, take a little timbre-al input from Peters friend Daniel Lanois. and others of a little older school generation. Having a little analogue will warm up your sound substantialy. The impact of your work if using even an Eventide 2016 or an older digital box ( not a 3500 or AMS ), will be enhanced tremendously. Even through the conversion process, there is a amplitude and timberal dynamic that happens even with lower bit rate stuff that 24/96 does not give you. Listen to some of Peters work through the late seventies and early eighties. Listen to Brian Humphries work on Animals-Pink Floyd for examples of processing sounds through modular equipment. A little expensive and a little more work back timming for the conversion process but well worth the effort which has paid off for you already!!! Peter seemed to really like your ideas. can balance a brital sound as well. The distortion vocal trick is a little old, try a little reinvention in binaural oddities and panning of sounds split up per channel by frequency bands. i.e. same vocal or sound copied to, lets say, five channels; pick a narrow frequency band and tune out the rest on each track of the same sound ( 200 for one, 675hz for another, 2.5k for another etc ) and pan them across the spectrum. The idea is to break up your sound into a variety of frequencies that when added together, you get the whole picture, but then process them independently and maybe add a binaural spacing to them so that it swimms even in headphones. I listened to this on really crappy monitors and then through a set of Magnaplaners and Kinoshita TADs and you've got great ideas but the 'digitally' thin character was a little hard over a period of time. Love to hear more and please take this as a prompt from a listener that wants to see where you will go with some warmth and have fun with the new gear!!!
Congratulations, you really deserved it !
Now you gotta make us listen to your Duende.
well done - congrats and keep on crunchin'
imp, how does one differentiate between digitally thin sound introduced by the mp3 conversion process, and digitally thin character as an artifact of too much digital processing? And, if I may be so bold as to ask, who are you???
hey multiman
really nice job, And congrats, too, are in order!
i really don't know what everyone's problem is with distortion on vox. remember PG 3? kate's BG vox were all re-recorded through a Radio Shack practise amp.
definitely very cool.
good job, and congrats again.
live well
brilliantfish
ah ah ah
Gooood neewws
Congratulations
My favorite is the winner
I told you
Im feeling fantastic
Multi, my best wishes from Uruguay
Please, enjoy the duende
I cant stop smile
This is justiceeeee
iujuuuu
Guau
Bravo, it's nice. It seems to be made by Peter Gabriel himself, well done.
Well, I thought Peter did a good job with the original! Sorry everyone but I think this is awsome
Thanks everyone. Im overwhelmed.
I LOVE THIS.I AGREE THOUGH THE DISTORTED VOCALS COULD HAVE BEEN CLEANED UP A BIT. BUT ITS VERY COOL.GOOD JOB!!!
No, no, no the closing section is horrible. the rest is jut fine.
You have made my day I stumbled across this and what a joy I am far from understanding how you have done what you have done however being a life long PG fan It is so good that PG continues to influence good musicianship and quality dynamic sounds I admire your work well done you!
Wow, great. Like the heavy beats, but i'm shure it will grow even more on me (-and others)Heard many 'inside outs' and this is in the top.
Hip hip
Hense (DK)
Sounds like if "shock the monkey" was released in the UP album. Good!
Very impressive.
Would love to hear this on some big speakers and not just my laptop and headphones. it's not my style but it's great! well done
if i'm not mistaken mr.gabriel's voice was distorted on the original soundtrack? multiman, a superb job. the constant change of tempo kept my interest to listen to it a few times.well done
Add another half a star to my 4.
I'd like to see STM performed this way.
I'm a friend of Jerry Marotta's and he would like this one.
Congrads man, I hadn't even heard this yet. This song def deserved the big prize.
Simple the best!
Give us more rmxs.
I realized just today that I never commented on your remix. It really is a great one. It keeps a definate Peter Gabriel flavor but is darker and more like his later work that has a organic, thickly-textured, world-music feel. My favorite things about your remix: I think you played some licks backwards and distorted right at the beginning and it comes back throughout. The percussion sounds are very interesting, organic, and subtle - I like that they aren't in my face. I LOVE the chimes and birdsounds in the little bridge into the chorus. The spot where you have a snippet of Peter dancing quickly between left and right channels added a really cool texture - it sounds like he's saying "ha-la ha-la ha-la" or something - - 1:01 and again at 2:21. The big chord at 1:55 feels SO good, so uplifting and powerful. The "hiccups" with the meter at the end were cool too, they perk up the ear in time for the downshift for the mellow ending. I'm also impressed that you used minimal equipment to do this remix. So many people used buckets full of software and gear, and by the looks of it you made it work with minimal equipment. Fantastic remix, and congrats again.
-Scarborough
Congratulations.many happy notes to follow.very uplifting work with much inspiration!
Great one¡¡¡ only need for more drums.
excellent.
anyone know where I can get an mp3 copy of this song, I have listened to it like 50 times already.
Loved the first half, 3/4 was lacking and closing was pretty good.
I enjoyed this track alot, and i love the darker elements.
Thumbs up on the distortion!!! Great remix, gives it a real edge and bite, the cleaner samples interact well (IMHO) with the distortion.
don't listen to them. loving the vocal-disto
I think this is good enough to sell. Maybe even good enough for Peter to put on his next album.
technical question: would like to attempt a barbershop mix of this song. traditionally, barbershop uses 1-3-5-7 chords that resolve. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbershop_music. What I want is some software that will allow me to do key shift change on a voice track. That way, I can take Peter's voice, then pitch shift it into 1-3-5-7 tracks, and then edit specific parts of that track to shift the chord movement. so when he goes hi to say "can't take any mooooooore", you can shift it to a 1-3-5-7 "can't take any mooooooooo-" then resolve it at 1-3-5-8 "-ooooooooooree", or even get fancy and do a 3-5-1-7 resolve to a 1-3-5-8. There's all kinds of things you can do in barbershop.
Just don't know the best software to try this with.
Didn't like the original P.G. song. But LOVE the remix! Awesome.
I hope you're not just sitting in your bedroom waiting for 'luck' to fall on your shoulders. I hope you're actively releasing songs or doing remixes. I've heard A LOT of totally crappy remixes that cannot reacht yours but nevertheless, were sold for a lotta bucks!
Keep it up.
Si este es el que me gusta.
Peter vente a Malaga a comer pescaitos.
Iker
Brilliant. A wonderful remix. Has a similar texture to some of the Up album. Love it.
Such an interesting and very original remix. Do you any plans to make the remix available as a download?
I really like this. nice work! I'd love to have this on my iPod.
This is the first remix I've heard and I thought it was excellent. This has long been one of my favourite PG songs and I thought the remix was a joy to listen to.
Wow great mix! The sound is so full and not at all hollow. Some of these songs tend to have a very hollow sound but this is totally awesome.
Very hauntung and beautiful. I wish I could put it on my ipod
Sounds if the master himself put his hands on this.
Verry various and extreme. Therefor Indeed a winner.
proficiat Multiman, ik ken wel weinig engels, mar dit klinkt wel lekker joh.
sukses verder.
Hello to Cola (Zdravko Colic) in RealWorld studio!
This sounds realy great.
Congratulations.
I love this deep and graet mix i do some music work for one filmaker hear in mexico anyway congratulations
Saludos desde mexico
why do you only have one remix? You should be doing more!
Did the Duende arrive already? Together with a letter of Peter perhaps? King Multiman, Your people wants to know the whole story.
Pretty cool remix! Powerful!
-Arizona
Wonderfull! Hope that PG will put it on his CD
I ain't jokin' :D
Bravo! Multiman You really deserve it!! I'm just new here and you gave this "shout" feel and power! .Hope the Duende arrived safely.
Thanks for all the continuing comments and emails! Yes the Duende has arrived and although I havent had a chance to make good use of it yet I can see that it will be a very useful piece of kit. I havent been resting on my laurels either. I have been working intensely on my own music - which has been spurred along by this success, and Im hoping to launch some of it out into the ether sometime in the new year. I'm a lurker at RWRM at the moment. I do want to have another go at a remix but would like to wait until another Gabriel track is up since its the music I am most familiar with. Many thanks once again.
Wow. Well done. I think you deserved to win. I agree partially with some of the reviewers, while I like the distorted vocals, I would have liked them more if they were used sparingly for effect. But that is just my taste. Overall I love this track.
Yes, it's good
Sonically it's very good and definitely very effective, bangs your head off. Only question: what does it exactly do to the song?
Superb, you gave that great track a new mystic finish. Very outstanding atmosphere!!! Fantastic. I love it alot and I hope PG will feature it on his next record as a remix.really hope he'll do so. But the distortion should be alittle less, like at the end of the track.
WWWOOOWWW - the best remix on this side. Keep on rockin!
Powerfull monkey. but a bit monochrome for me
Very good - an inspiration.
Great!
Hello Multiman. I'm Milann from the competition list. I am finishing my demo CD. Alone with my guitars I tried to compose the most original songs I could make. I want you to hear it. Is it possible??
(Sorry for disturbing)
This one I like, a much darker feel to it, considering the song is about jealously. It has a touch of the Nine Inch Nails/Depeche Mode feel to it too. The distortion on the vox adds to atomosphere within the mix. Well Done
very good remix i like it !!!!!!
This is totally PG. Great work. A very contemporary sound. I love . Good work
Really enjoyed your creation, at times too much distortion which distracted from the power of the mix, enjoyed the build up's, loved the delicacy of some vocal parts, captured the "simian spirit" really well, unpredictable and entertaining.
SUPER JOB! Congrats! Great taste of sounds with all respect for original.Thanxx for the great piece of music.

Ths is a very wonderful remix. I love the darkness of the song put to PG's voice. If PG was a heavy mental singer, I think Shock the Monkey would sound like this. This could even be a reel remix.
Choice Bro.
Totally in keeping with the guts of the original - but original enough for the guts of the noughties.
RC
It is a good remix. Keeping with the original but I think the distorted vocals were a bit too overdone; however, the silent passages make up for it, building the mystery and meshing it with the manic. ***** (5 stars)
this is exelent!
I gave this a 5 star. When I listened, I knew I needed to feel Peter Gabriel and I certainly did. This is a very sexy, to say the least, remix.
No words great remix -
well done maybe voice is a too bit in the background for me. but this is up to personal taste.
to much compression for my taste but it is very nice made.
simply superb! :) great job! I'm new to this site, thanks Peter for having such a great idea in creating this website!!
my congratulations for the winner
It seems I´m one of the few, there´s just a little to much going on here sorry but I have to say it. Takes the focus away a little from the song. The distorted lead vocal certainly fits in an industrialmix like this, can be really cool to. But I think this music colliding with a "clean" vox would have made an even bigger statement. It´s good though can´t take that away so if I could: 4 stars for the music 3 for the remixed song.
Göran
brilliant*****!!!!!
just perfect
it gives me ideas ! i love how rythm & voices are mixed to give more energy to words .
Missing Peters voice. It's a good begining but its not an end!!!
Very good ideias!
Congratulations, excellent drum sonics, very nice thank you.
Hey MULTIMAN, this is probably old news to you by now, but that was a very nice job on Shock the Monkey. I didn't get to it in time to post my remix of it for the contest, but I'll still post it anyway. Nice job and keep up the great work.
Wow! This is a great mix. Great drums. Very Gabriel alike. 5 stars!
very impressive-you got the groove man!and you hit the mood perfectly-5 stars-best wishes for your future work
sorry multiman - couldn't give it a high score. distorted vocals isn't the best choice and i'm bored by 130 in. musical beat is off in quite a few places where it wasn't intended it seems. good job otherwise
I discovered this website recently and must say i am really impressed by your work mister Multiman. A lot of great musical ideas and amazing production skills. If Peter Gabriel had written this song today it would sound like that. Better than the original. Bravo.
I like this remix as it shows how good the standard of work that is produced by Multiman and what I myself would like to aspire to. I can also see where Multiman is coming from the 'harder edge' of the musical scale. fantastic sounds!
Spectacular!!! I just joined and I've found this perfect remix, no wonder Gabrile choose this one!
Well crunched, nice and dark. Liked the dynamics of the song as well.
Very enjoyable. A listen-able remix which many are not. The harder works without going too far.
I like this Remix very much. can I say more than the original without Gabriel getting offensed?
it somehow reminds me of the stuff Peter Gabriel did when he was involved with Daniel Lanois, who is my absolute top favourite amongst producers.
I love your mixing skills. think your fantastic!!
Brilliant!
Love the semi-rock, dark feel to it.
It is a true remix, the original was very 80's and this is very dark.
I especially like the birds chirping in the end to give it a sense of lightness and then the dark bass come back in and takes it away.
5/5
Great mix! Well done combining the instrumental and Peters voice! Good job!
5 stars from the heart of Switzerland. Great and dirty!
I'm a fan of the "DON'T LIKE IT BUT I GUESS I'M LEARNING bit. That was good.
I visited this site 2 years ago and was blown away by this mix. When I came back, I had to find it again. Absolutely fantastic, even after all of this time.
thanks!
I heard this mix as well a couple of years ago. this is absolutely fabulous. just a great interpretation of this classic song. much respect to you.
amazing remix. Such talent!!

This is f*cking awesome. Well well well done. SO DRAMATIC!!!!

I like this mix its got a magical mytery tour thing going on it my only issue is the destruction of the vocals in the body of the song you got a lot of dirt going on so some other treatment would have been better. It's also typical of a lot of mixes that save some really interesting bit right till the last 20 seconds. Do it earlier and build it again, a lot of listeners here wont stay around that long. Good overall though
