Remixer Notes
I visited this site a couple of weeks ago after hearing about it a long time ago at another forum. I was simply amazed and astonished at the talent represented in the mixes I was listening to! Wanting to aquire new and broaden my existing skills I thought I would give one a try.
I have long identified with the emotional qualities of PG's voice. I somehow feel connected at times to the sense of urgency and pain in it. Cuts like "Diggin in the dirt" and Secret World" resonate deeply with me. So I began this maiden votage to my 1st remix.
I call this "Struggle" for many reasons. The obvious ones are grappling with the technique necessary to even get one of these going - The other ones are of a more personal but universal nature.
I had only two things in mind at the start
1) A strong Groove and 2).To never(like it would even be possible)subject Peter's voice to my musical vision but instead to let whatever musical vision I had for the peice first and foremost(hopefully) serve the classic vocal of this song.
I must say - It was a surreal experience to have this man's monstrously talented and unique voice "under my control" and Fader.
Anyway - enough of the long windedness
Here it is - It's not great by any means but it is a start
I Thank you Peter and the all at Realworld for giving us/me who are so very green an opportunity to bring World class talent into my little corner room studio!!
Technical Information
Sonar 6.2
A small variety of Soft Synths
A Fender Strat and a Fender P-Bass
I kept thinking I wanted to add this and that - I finally decided to just let it go - If it can't stand on it's own now - It never will no matter what I add!!

Wail, DK, you got yor groove on that there's fer sure. And it's a dangtastic one ta boot. Ya mighta got ol Pete's vocal in the pocket a little better but, hell, maybe ya got him woozy boozy on purpose. But it's a heck of a mix, ol pal. Keep em comin. Woof! Woof! A two minute flea scratchin and one wild flang of the squeaky squirrel.
Thanks youyou and my man Doghouse - It is really cool to have good feedback from Veteran Re-mixers that know what they are doing
I love the beat on this one, has a really nice dreamy yet funky thing going on. Really nice and a big well done. nice guitars
4 from me
Hey hey - this is very nice. Lots of things going on under the surface - love all the atmospheric details. Great combination of the guitars and your core beat - really enjoyable mix.
I agree that PG's vocals could be pulled in a bit - but it's really an excellent mix. 5/5 from me.
Very, very nice. I like also the treatment of the vocals (reverberation included).
Keep up the great work!

Unusual interpretation. Reminds me in some way of Twin Peaks mood.

Very interesting and chill like remix feel. Like the underlying beat and texture. Awesome remix.
