Apologies for the loss of service, we had a few gremlins in the servers which took us off the air for a few hours. We've had a team of elf fumigators at work and so as the air clears we are gradualy returning to normal service.

The sampler sampled

Long time Real World Remixer Bitley AKA Patrick Fridh has been burning the midnight oil brining the Fairlight CMI back to life as the Fairlight CMI Legacy ReFill for Reason 4. The pack contains the entire Fairlight IIx sound library, re-sampled and edited & used by kind permission from Fairlight Instruments in Australia.

Nine remixes with us starting with this 'Hotpick' from August 2006 'Bitley's Bitley Turned Gabriel Into Chaka Remix' he's a busy man and we tip our virtual hats in his direction.

Great back-scratches coming in at realworldremixed

An amazing day's listening at Real World Remixed.

As regular contributor AndreasF says "Is there any upload not a "Hotpick" today? I don't think so. I can't remember a day in history of RWR with so many high quality remixes in it."

This one from Marcoos (SAE London Graduate, Looking for co-op with people from all around the world:) is well worth a listen, but so are the day's other submissions.

Remixers scratch Peter's back - and Charlie's too.

An interesting day for remixes at Real World Remixed.

Although we have not officially announced any competition rules as yet, we are working on them. It looks like we will try to make 3 or 4 Peter Gabriel tracks available in conjunction with the Digital 45 releases on iTunes this year. The intention is then to pull some form of release together with the best mix based on each sample pack. More information will follow as the plan firms up.

Peter took a moment away from all things 'Scratch My Back' to introduce some of the music from Real World Records that's been filling his ears over the winter months.

Peter introduces music from Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara's 'Trance Sessions', Portico Quartet's 'Isla', Spiro's 'Lightbox', Charlie Winston's 'Hobo', The Black Swan Effect, Tom Kerstens' 'Utopia', the upcoming Syriana project and Toumast's upcoming 'Amachal'.
